Voluntary counselling placements

Applications are now open

We are currently recruiting trainee and experienced volunteer counsellors to start work at Kingston Women’s Centre.

About our placements

Placement contracts are for two years in line with the services we provide. Contracts can be extended beyond the two years subject to a meeting with the Clinical Manager and balanced with the needs of the service.

Counsellors are expected to see three clients a week and attend one of our in-house supervision groups fortnightly for which we charge a small fee.

Successful applicants will attend Clinical and Administrative induction sessions to welcome them to the centre.

Applications are accepted from students and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who are in training, or who trained on courses accredited by BACP/ UKCP/ BPS.

Applicants will have

  • A minimum of 50 supervised client hours / or relevant experience of working with people / life experience.
  • At least one year of personal therapy.
